Lucky George’s Journalism career started about eleven years ago when he joined the then newly established The Diet Newspaper now (Daily Independent) in 1996.

On joining The Diet, he was assigned to report travel and tourism. He had had prior experience on the subject with an independent television producer.

Few years later, Lucky moved on to join another independent producer producing a popular television programme ‘Expression’ on arts, culture, entertainment and tourism as the tourism segment presenter on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA Channel 10), Lagos.

After a successful period as a presenter, Lucky George went back to the print media where he started his own publication, ‘Travel and Tourism Magazine’ and also ventured into marketing, media and public relations consultancy servicing the travel and tourism industry before joining BusinessDAY Newspaper in 2003.

He holds a master degree in public relations and currently the President of Association of Tourism Journalists (ANJET) in Nigeria.

A 2006 Winner of European Commission Lorenzo Natali Prize for Journalists Reporting Human Rights and Democracy
